Watched on the flight home from Jakarta. Jeff came away confused why Spielberg took on this project at all: it echoes the tone and intensity of E.T. without the same payoff, and the plot felt disjointed, with characters that never got much depth. He spent roughly the first half lost, though he thought it picked up and got more interesting toward the end. Two and a half out of five, and he thinks it might have worked better as a smaller, streaming-only release than a big theatrical one.
